A young coffee farmer, Birhanu forms part of the Jabanto farmers group, based in Yirgacheffe county. Inspired by the passion of his father and other local coffee farmers, he left school to pursue his own coffee farming career, aspiring to make his mark in the specialty coffee industry. Not only is he doing just that - he has inspired dozens of other young people to follow in his footsteps, creating an all-new generation of emerging coffee farmers.
Birhanu works diligently with the local bureau of agriculture to find the best coffee varieties that are most suited to his farming system and the local environment, so rest assured that any coffee produced by his will be developed with the utmost care and consideration.

Born and Bred in Bondi, we’re on an eternal quest to share the world’s greatest coffee with the world’s greatest humans (that’s you). Our journey began in 2013 when three best mates set out to create the perfect blend to accompany their early morning surfs, and Eight-O-Eight was born. Shortly after, we began supplying to local cafes in the Sydney area, and now you can find our coffee pouring daily at cafes across Australia.
