Cold brew coffee concentrate is a game changer when it comes to home-brewing. If you’re in a rush or simply can’t be bothered, you can still enjoy the goodness of specialty coffee without any fancy equipment and minimal effort. Call that a win.
But why limit yourself to brewing at home? One of our favourite things about our coffee concentrate is it allows you to sip on a quality, tasty as brew wherever you find yourself – from early morning surfs and sunrise hikes to road trips and campsites.
Keen to learn how to make coffee concentrate bevvies for your next trip? When it comes to brewing on the go, we have a few tips to share with you so you can get the most out of your adventure.
A Little About Coffee Concentrate
The magic of cold brew concentrate is all in how it’s brewed. Crafted nice and slow over a longer period, the end result is a smoother, more nuanced taste profile that showcases the best of our signature blend, Eight-O-Eight.
This longer brew time also produces a more caffeinated – and concentrated – bevvy.
Though you might be tempted to drink it on its own, we recommend mixing with milk, water or something juicy to truly enjoy. Though, if you’re one to order the occasional espresso shot, feel free to give it a go – we recommend chilled.
When brewing a classic coldie, the coffee concentrate ratio we recommend is 3:7, which equates to 60mL of coffee concentrate and 140mL milk or water. But, as always, adjust to suit your own tastes.

Tips for Brewing on the Go
1. Double up on some coffee concentrate in a thermos with ice when going for a walk
Water is a precious resource when you’re out for a bush or coastal walk. Some of the best views are a little more remote and may not come with access to water filling stations.
Instead of using your liquid H2O when you’re ready for that caffeine hit, pre-mix your cold brew concentrate with ice. That way, while you’re busy walking, the ice has a chance to melt and create the perfect cold brew.
More of an iced latte person? Try filling your ice cube tray with milk instead. Just keep in mind that milk has a slightly lower freezing temp than water, so it takes just a little longer (but we promise it’s worth it).
If you’re into plant-based milks, beware that the milk solids tend to separate from the liquid, which can result in a grittier taste once thawed.
2. Bring the bottle to share with mates
There’s nothing better than an early morning surf – well, except for when it’s with your good mates.
Make your post-surf brews with the crew easy as by bringing a bottle of cold brew concentrate to share. With enough liquid gold for a double-shot coffee for you and five of your mates, you’re sure to earn some brownie points.
Tell them to bring a thermos of their mixer of choice, add the coffee concentrate and enjoy.
3. Brew your coffee concentrate hot to warm up on a crisp morning
There’s no better way to warm up on a cool morning than with a nice hot cuppa. Though we often talk about enjoying specialty coffee concentrate as an iced bevvy, it’s also tasty as when mixed with hot water.
The flavour is more similar to a filter brew like batch or V60 – a bit more nuanced and delicate – versus the bolder taste of a traditional long black.
Whether it’s after an early morning surf or whilst away on a camping trip, brewing coffee concentrate hot is easy. Simply bring your water to a boil, pour into your cup and add coffee concentrate to taste. You can always add a dash of milk to balance out the flavour – just as you might to a batch brew.
4. Store unopened bottles in your storage containers to save on fridge space
This one is for you van junkies. We know fridge space is sacred, so save yourself some room by storing your cold brew concentrate in an alternative, secure location when unopened.
However, once you crack a bottle to start enjoying, make sure to clear a little room as she should be refrigerated once opened.
No Fuss Brewing
While coffee concentrate is great for the moments when you’re time poor, it’s even better for enjoying a specialty-grade brew on the go, off the beaten path.
With no special equipment or tools needed, you can brew a cuppa in no time - just mix and enjoy. That’s why we call it ‘no fuss brewing’.
Regardless of where you find yourself – along the coastline, deep in the bush or cruising down remote roads – rest assured that you’ll be in good hands with our cold brew coffee concentrate. After all, the world is your caffeinated oyster.
